This is the MSL130, the official press car for Sweden / Europe, as seen in the official press material (see upper photo) and sales brochures (see lower photo). The SAAB Museum claims this is not a pre-production car, but a production car. I beg to differ on a personal note. This car – strikingly – doesn’t have the USA-strips along the fenders as the other pre-production cars do. Judging from the model year 1987 sales brochure, this car was at some point in time
converted to a slant nose model (see lower photo). Another possibility is that the MSL130-plates were used on a 1987
convertible during photoshooting.
According to the SAAB Museum, the fate of the MSL130 is unknown. The license number currently is in use for a snow scooter…
